About the role
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities within the organization. This role includes managing a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and safely. The Supervisor will plan and execute maintenance schedules, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational standards. The Maintenance Director will also be responsible for performing maintenance tasks from time to time (Specific allocation of time will be based upon additional maintenance personnel support).
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, train, and evaluate maintenance staff to ensure high levels of performance.
- Assign tasks and prioritize work for the maintenance team based on facility needs.
Maintenance Management:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Monitor and inspect work performed by maintenance staff, ensuring quality standards are met.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
-Assist in the preparation and management of the maintenance budget.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering as necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions for maintenance staff.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
-Prepare and present reports on maintenance operations, budget considerations, and progress to upper management.
Collaboration:
-Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance needs and schedules.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff to minimize downtime.

- Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record in managing maintenance teams, with strong leadership skills that inspire and motivate your team to achieve high standards of performance and efficiency.
- Strategic Thinker: You possess excellent problem-solving abilities and can develop and implement effective maintenance strategies that align with organizational goals and ensure the longevity and reliability of facilities and equipment.
- Detail-Oriented Professional: You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards, ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with industry regulations and best practices.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the maintenance field.
