About the role

Here at Odevo we are seeking a skilled Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our growing IT Operations Information Security team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security weaknesses, configuring security tooling, and assisting with responding to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and implement security tooling across a hybrid environment (cloud & on-prem infrastructure)

• Manage the vulnerability management program, provide reporting and assist asset owners with security weaknesses

• Work with software developers to help ensure secure coding practices are in place and support with helping the teams understand their vulnerabilities from penetration tests and scans

• Assist in security incidents, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions

• Participate in the design and implementation of security solutions

• Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices

• Support new projects with security architecture requirements

• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the security of systems and applications

Who you are

You are a seasoned and passionate senior cyber security engineer with a proven track record of safeguarding systems and data.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with IT professionals, developers, and stakeholders to integrate security seamlessly into every project. You communicate clearly and can articulate the strengths and weaknesses of various security strategies in a constructive manner.

Experience

• Proven expertise in designing and implementing security measures to protect systems and data.

• Strong collaboration skills to integrate security into development and operational processes.

• A proactive approach to staying ahead of evolving cyber threats and emerging technologies.

• A degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or related fields (preferred but not essential).

• Cyber security certifications like CISSP or GIAC (a plus).

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python (a plus).
